Type 5 Ethylene Oxid Chemical Indicator

AXCP30 is a Type 5 Ethylene Oxide (EO) Chemical Integrator used to monitor EO gas sterilization cycles. It is placed inside individual packs and changes color only when all critical sterilization parameters—time, temperature, EO concentration, humidity, and gas penetration—have been successfully met. It complies with EN ISO 11140-1 standards.

 INDICATIONS:

  • Hospitals, sterilization centers, and laboratories that use EO gas sterilization for heat- or moisture-sensitive medical devices.
  • Internal pack monitoring, to verify that sterilizing gas has reached the deepest part of the package.
  • Quality control systems, ensuring that EO sterilization conditions have been met before releasing medical instruments or equipment.
  • Medical device manufacturers during EO validation processes.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE.

  • Preparation: Ensure the packaging is clean and sealed correctly before sterilization.
  • Placement: Insert one AXCP30 indicator strip inside each individual pack, ideally near the most difficult-to-reach location for sterilant penetration.
  • Sterilization: Run the EO sterilization cycle according to the required parameters (e.g., temperature, EO gas concentration, humidity, exposure time).
  • Post-Cycle Inspection:
  • After the cycle, check the color change of the strip.
  • A complete color transition (usually from red to yellow or orange) indicates that all required conditions were met.
  • An incomplete or no color change means that one or more critical parameters were not achieved.
  • Response: If color change is incomplete, do not use the items—reprocess them under corrected sterilization conditions.
  • Documentation: Keep the used indicator for record-keeping or attach it to documentation as proof of successful sterilization.
